Vacations In Blackpool and Things To See And Do
Blackpool is an immensely popular seaside resort situated on the North West coast of England, which is intensely popular with tourists arriving from the nearby cities and towns which include Liverpool, Warrington, Manchester and more. The town is also deeply popular with visitors from all over Scotland who often arrive in large groups in a similar way to the groups of factory workers of old on their company holiday. At times it appears as though the resort is smothered in B & B's and entertainments and although there is an incredibly amount of Blackpool bed and breakfast accommodation it is better to make early reservations to be safe. Accommodation varies from cheaper lodgings to 5 star. Many are on the sea front and, if you would rather stay somewhere more peaceful there are some in the suburbs.
Blackpool first started getting visitors in the 18th century who had arrived to indulge in the new craze of sea bathing. With the advent of the railway, from 1846, Blackpool experienced more and more folk arriving to"take the cure" as sea bathing was called at that time. Nowadays people can travel to Blackpool by air, automobile or railway arriving there much faster than the early Victorian mill workers who would take as long as 48 hrs from Manchester.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
The busiest attraction in the resort, in Lancashire, which manages to receive about 7 million customers every twelve months, is Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Blackpool's Pleasure Beach is a funfair of extra large proportions with terrifying big rides, such as Valhalla, Grand National, Ice Blast, the Pepsi Max Big One, Wild Mouse and Zipper Dipper, and including even more sideshows, children's rides, food booths, entertainments, sidestalls and games. The newest big ride is Infusion, the first ride in the world to feature a suspended looping coaster all of it over water.

Please note: If you are planning to visit the Pleasure Beach as a group or family it is possible to save pennies by buying an unlimited ride ticket especially if you will be going on many rides as the cost of each ride soon amounts to a lot.
How To Get To Blackpool And Bed & Breakfast
Blackpool is, as said earlier, very easy to get to these days as you are able to travel to the town by train, car or aeroplane. Arriving by train you will, most likely, be using the main station in Blackpool, which is Blackpool North on Talbot Road. Just a short distance further down Talbot Road is situated Blackpool National Express Coach Station, Blackpool's main coach station. The other rail station, Blackpool South, is at Waterloo Road, South Promenade, which is closer to the Pleasure Beach. Blackpool's airport is located some 2 miles south of the town centre and was previously called, Blackpool Squires Gate Airport, One of the oldest airports in Great Britain.
Blackpool bed & breakfast accommodation is usually priced reasonably. Accommodation is far less expensive off season but a little more costly on Saturdays and Sundays. Hotels in Blackpool are at their most costly while the Blackpool Illuminations are on, which is really the resort's peak season.
Please remember: Some guest houses can be rather busy and noisy especially those located between North Pier and Central Pier. If you would prefer somewhere quieter try booking accommodation beyond the North Pier.
